Our Robotics Camps feature the LEGO © Mindstorms EV3 Sets which includes the EV3 Intelligent Brick, which is a programmable computer that controls Servo motors and collects sensor feedback using icon-based programming. Sensors included Gyro, Ultrasonic, Color and Touch.
This Camp allows campers to get deeper into the builds and skill building activities. The Bricks include 541 elements that can be used for teaching science, technology, engineering, math, and computer science. The curriculum used for all of our camps comes from LEGO © Education and is carefully planned by our founder drawing from 20+ years of robotics teaching, training and curriculum development for schools and various departments of education across the US. It includes 48 tutorials to help you and your students learn the basics of LEGO © MINDSTORMS EV3.
Programming is done by dragging and dropping icons into a line to form commands allowing students to build simple programs, and then easily and intuitively build on their skills until they are developing complex algorithms.
The data logging feature inside the EV3 Software is a powerful science tool for carrying out experiments. It is easy to predict, collect, view, analyze and manipulate data from sensors and see the data in interactive graphs. The software is based on LabVIEW, the industry-leading graphical programming language, and is optimized for all levels of student programmers.
All of the sets feature LEGO © Building Instructions and Lesson Briefs; some demonstrate using videos. The skillsets learned during the week(s) in the camp include real programming and engineering principles which can be applied beyond the camp.
Our camps have breaks with activities and snacks (lunch breaks for full day camps). We do not provide lunch; please make sure your child has lunch each and every day. Please note, we do not have breaks, activities or build time outside due to the inclement nature of our weather here in Florida. Breaks (snack, lunch or activity) happen at the top of each hour. All of our Camps have limited seating and they do tend to fill up fast.
